Dipper history

Beschuit originated when 17th-century Dutch settlers arrived in South Africa and traveled with this vital, long-lasting food on the rough seas.

The Dutch called  it 'beschuit', meaning 'twice-baked'. They became crucial during the Wars, and evolved from plain hard biscuits to flavorful treats with added ingredients like bran, oats, and fruit, becoming a beloved cultural symbol of home and tradition, when dunked in coffee or tea. You will search long for a house without them.

What is a dipper

Dippers are delicious, double-baked, meal replacement snacks, baked in Alberta from 100% natural ingredients. Dippers deliver a deliciously crunchy bite that holds its shape in every dip.

High in fibre, slow-baked for flavour, and available in a range of irresistible flavours, they’re the ideal energy-boosting snack for home, work, or adventure.

Every small batch is baked and cut by hand before being slow-baked twice, ensuring they last for months and keep their shape when dipped in tea, coffee or hot cocoa.

How to enjoy

Dip the dipper in you your hot cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate for 5 seconds, bite and enjoy!

Enjoy them at home, school, the office, or outdoors — on mountain slopes, at campfires, on the farm, by the lake, or anywhere your day takes you. All you need is a cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate.
